We invite you to stay with us and take a ride into the past, experiencing a true piece of American history. Caboose Junction Resort is located on 9 lakefront park-like acres of private paradise on beautiful Table Rock Lake, nestled amongst the rolling hills of southwest Missouri. With space for 34 GUESTS Caboose Junction provides your large group or family reunion an exciting, one-of-a-kind adventure. Gracing our resort are six authentic Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) cabooses, some of the last great remnants of our country s proud railroad heritage. For nearly a half-century, these cabooses roamed the rails throughout Kansas, Colorado, Missouri and many other parts of the Southwest and West. After taking one final journey from Wichita, Kansas, to Exeter, Missouri, and then by highway to Table Rock Lake, Lampe, Missouri, the cabooses were retired and converted into charming resort units. Today, families and friends from all across the U.S. come to relax in these nostalgic cabooses and experience all that the area has to offer.
Nestled alongside the cabooses, our main resort home boasts six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, accommodating up to 16 guests, your comfort is our priority. Step inside the main house to discover a welcoming living room, a fully-equipped kitchen, two elegant dining areas, and a luxurious master king-bedroom suite on the main floor. Upstairs, two more bedroom suites await, while downstairs boasts three additional bedrooms, one with a private exterior entrance for a truly secluded experience.
For a unique stay, our six individual antique train cabooses beckon, capable of hosting up to 18 "passengers" and outfitted with modern amenities such as a mini-fridge and cable TV. Preserving the authentic charm of rail travel, these cabooses offer an intimate retreat ideally suited for two adults and two children each. Experience a stay like no other, where old-world charm meets modern comfort.

This place was perfect for us! We had a party of 15, ages 16 to 73. We occupied the main house plus one caboose. We ordered barbeque from the Fillin Station on the first night, picked it up en route to the house, and it was delicious. We never left again, and didn't need to. The house had everything we needed, if you read the instructions. I reviewed the older website, which was a mistake, because I thought there was a boat launch next to the dock. It's not there anymore, but there's a public launch nearby. The house is amazing. The dock is amazing. The house was very clean and tidy, but the yard has been neglected. Some tree work would really improve the view of the lake. And one warning, I think it would be a difficult walk to the dock for anyone elderly or in poor health. It's rocky and steep. The caboose was adorable. It was around 65 degrees at night so I can't speak to the AC adequacy. No one complained. There's a perfect flat spot between cabooses for cornhole and games. If you added a pickleball court right there, it would be perfection! We used the swim platform all day, the kayaks, pool table, ping pong table, and especially the grill. We chartered Firehouse Bowfishing on Friday night, which I highly recommend. He picked us up right at the dock! You will not be disappointed with this place. It's very special. My only aggravation was the 5pm check-in, which is unusual and puzzling. But if you've got a large party of varying ages...this place is great! It's out of the way, but very easy to get to, and only about 30 minutes to Branson Landing. We loved it!
We had a great family reunion. Everyone loved hanging out at the lake and boating. The kids loved the cabooses. The house was very clean and was a perfect size for our families. The walk down to the lake is a little steep, but doable. I would highly recommend staying here.
This is our second stay at Caboose Junction and again the accommodations were excellent and served us very well. The two laundry rooms, the well-equipped kitchen and the spacious main floor dining and living area were just what we needed for our large family of various ages. We enjoyed meal times together and especially time for hanging out together since we are from four different states. There were a couple issues with the cabooses including the air conditioner not working but Steve and Corey responded quickly to our calls and the issue was resolved by the installation of a new air conditioner. We would consider booking this facility again in 2027. Thank you again for a delightful stay. Eudell and Mary Jo Vis
We had a reunion of 12 old friends from High School. The house was very comfortable, and the fire pit was a favorite gathering place for us to tell lies. Could not have asked for better or more friendly support. They were also very organized and accommodating. We all agreed to absolutely use the Caboose Junction again in the future.
