All About the Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees is an annual fundraiser for Christian Action Ministries (CAM), held at Branson Landing. It’s open to the public and runs for several weeks every year, so locals and visitors can stop by anytime during the season.
And trust us, you’ll want to come experience it for yourself. Like many fundraisers, this one is all warm and fuzzy, but with a powerful dose of holiday fun! The festive pop-up shop features bright lights, holiday music, and an explosion of Christmas colors that feel like they belong in a Hallmark movie. It’s the perfect spot to browse and buy new holiday décor while helping your community!
This year’s Festival has more than 50 creatively decorated trees, plus wreaths, and other fun decor, so come early to get your pick!
What is Branson’s Festival of Trees?

So how does it work?
Local businesses, organizations, and individuals pitch in as sponsors to decorate a Christmas tree or other holiday decor for sale at the festival. All the proceeds go towards locals experiencing food insecurity, so they can worry less during the holiday season.
Michele Dean, Executive Director of CAM, shared why this mission matters:
“Our individuals experiencing food insecurity are having to make difficult choices: ‘Do I buy food? Do I pay my utilities? Do I pay my rent?’ Those are the hard decisions. So we are really proud that we can come in and help families with those groceries.”
Local sponsor Daniel Koren from Branson/Springfield Roof Co. also shared what inspires him to give back:
“It’s the thought that there are people with food insecurity–children that don’t know where their next meal is coming from–that get some peace of mind and have some hope in life. And people going through a tough time, they just know somebody’s there that cares.”

But that’s not the only way our local community bands together during the Festival of Trees! For the first time this year, sponsors can get even more involved by choosing a day to volunteer at the festival’s pop-up shop! So be sure to come visit our Branson Premier crew on November 20th as we spread some extra tidings of joy — and help you find the perfect holiday decor to bring home!
How the Festival of Trees Began

Christian Action Ministries started in 1984 as a local food pantry created by Branson-area churches. Their goal was simple: to help neighbors in need.
And 9 years ago, they launched the Festival of Trees to help even more people around the holidays! It’s quickly become a favorite tradition, with dozens of locals getting directly involved as sponsors and volunteers.
Of course, it wouldn’t be possible without Michele Dean and Assistant Director Laney Tatro! Both of them are driven by the goal of serving the Lord by serving His children —not just at Christmas, but throughout the year!
They serve over 7,500 individuals each month in Taney and Stone Counties, and while this event is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, they always welcome support.

What Makes the Festival of Trees a Holiday Must-Do?

The Festival of Trees isn’t just another feel-good holiday event. While we love our Branson shows, lights, and food, we love our neighbors even more. This Festival is the perfect way to reinforce that community spirit and give back to those in need, whether you’re a local or just joining us for the season.
The Festival generates a lot of resources for Christian Action Ministries, enabling them to reach even more people who would otherwise have to choose between food and heat. So, please, make a point to visit the Festival, shop around for some new holiday decor, and spread some extra holiday cheer to our Stone and Taney County residents!
Better yet, make it a part of your Branson holiday traditions, starting this year!
