How This Taste of Home Came to the 76 Strip

Michelle, the master chef behind Local Flavor, was born for this job. As a child, she loved to play “restaurant” in her grandma’s kitchen. And as she grew up, she developed a true talent for food that had everyone telling her, “You need to open up your own restaurant.”
But things really started when some hungry trucker friends couldn’t get enough of Michelle’s cooking. Their encouragement pushed her to open up her first restaurant in Oklahoma. Four years later, Local Flavor came to Branson, bringing Michelle’s made-from-scratch recipes to the famous 76 strip, and it quickly became a must-try for locals and visitors alike.
What’s on the Menu at Local Flavor

If you’re craving a good, homemade meal—emphasis on homemade—Local Flavor is the place to be. They use fresh ingredients and make everything from scratch using family recipes that bring both quality and flavor.
The menu is jam-packed with classic comfort food, like fried green tomatoes, fried okra, Frito Pie, and nearly a dozen loaded burgers. But there are some mouthwatering twists, too, like the Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich, Grown-Up Grilled Cheese, and the Ozark Carnivore (a meat-lovers blend of bison, elk, wild boar, and beef on Brioche). Yes, please!
Michelle’s Classic Dinners also deserve a spotlight, with hearty dishes like fried catfish baskets, chicken-fried steak, country-fried steak, grilled chicken, and grilled salmon. They’re all loaded up with sides of mashed potatoes and cream gravy, cream cheese corn, green beans, or Texas toast.
Come ready to eat up.

Our Experience at Local Flavor
It took no convincing for our team to hit up Local Flavor and check out the homemade cuisine and welcoming atmosphere for ourselves. You better believe we brought our appetites—but as soon as the smell of sizzling burgers hit, we knew that would be the first thing on our to-try list.
Michelle hooked us up with our own Jalapeno Burger dipped in homemade ranch. The balance of spice and flavor was flawless. On the side, we indulged in perfectly cooked onion rings, cut to just the right thickness.
Next up, Michelle introduced us to the Bowl of Shame. The ultimate comfort food, this delicious bowl layers homemade mashed potatoes, cream cheese corn, hand-battered chicken bites, and brown gravy. Like any good Southern meal, we didn’t stop to think about the calories—just dug in and enjoyed.

By the end, we were stuffed. But not too stuffed for one of Michelle’s homemade desserts! Her signature vanilla bean cheesecake was moist, fluffy, and downright dreamy. This one stays on the menu year-round, unless it’s sold out!
