All October long, pumpkin festivals, a haunted mountain coaster and a teen-only scare ride fill the calendar. This guide covers the best Halloween events in Branson, who each one suits, and where to stay close to the fun.

Where Can Kids Go Trick-or-Treating in Branson?

Trick-or-treating in Branson works best at organized events. Visiting families don’t know the local streets, and these events give kids busy, walkable routes packed with treats. Both big options fall on Saturday, October 31, 2026, so you can pick one or try both.

Branson Landing Safe Street Trick-or-Treating

Branson Landing hosts its 20th annual Safe Street Trick-or-Treating on October 31. Kids in costume work their way up and down The Promenade. Halloween pumpkin signs in store windows mark the shops handing out treats.

Teal pumpkins flag businesses with food-allergy-friendly treats or non-food goodies, a thoughtful touch for kids with allergies. Sonshine Dance & Fitness also performs its Thriller Dance three times: near Belk at 5:30 p.m., near Bass Pro Shops at 6:15 p.m. and near The Fountains at 7:05 p.m. The Landing’s event page lists no start time, so confirm hours with Branson Landing before you go.

CoxHealth Trunk or Treat

CoxHealth hosts a free Trunk or Treat on October 31, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. It takes place at the CoxHealth Therapy and Specialty Center at 121 Cahill Road in Branson. Staff run Halloween-themed booths with games and treats for all ages, which makes it a calm alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating.

Branson Parks & Recreation has also hosted a free Halloween BOOnanza at the Branson RecPlex in past years, with a trick-or-treat trail, games and inflatables. The 2026 date wasn’t posted when we checked on September 29, 2026, so call Parks & Recreation before you plan around it.

What Halloween Events Run All October in Branson?

Not every trip lands on October 31. These Halloween events in Branson run for weeks, so almost any fall visit can include pumpkins and a few friendly frights.

Shepherd’s PumpkinFest and Sleepy Hollow

Shepherd of the Hills runs PumpkinFest from September 12 through October 31, 2026. General tickets cost $29.95 for adults and $27.95 for children, plus tax and fees, and kids 3 and under get in free. It opens at dusk and runs until 9 p.m. on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

New for 2026, Sleepy Hollow brings back the Headless Horseman with a Spooky Hayride on evenings through October 24. Pumpkins Aglow is a night walk past thousands of lit pumpkins, open Fridays through Sundays plus select weekdays, and included with the $39.95 Great Pumpkin Pass. Shepherd’s also runs the Haunted Copperhead Mountain Coaster on Friday and Saturday nights, with fog, flashing lights and animated statues but no jump scares. Rides cost $17.95 for a driver and $12.95 for a passenger, plus tax. Riders must be at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall, and riders ages 3 to 9 must ride with someone 16 or older.

Silver Dollar City Harvest Festival

Silver Dollar City’s Harvest Festival runs through October 31, 2026. More than 20,000 pumpkins fill the park, and the evening fun starts at 5:30 p.m. with lit pumpkin displays, dance parties and photo ops with Peter and Penelope Pumpkin. Don’t miss Wilson’s Farm’s Garden of Giants, where giant pumpkins top 1,000 pounds. Hungry families can add a Harvest Festival Tasting Ticket for five tasting-sized items from the fall menu.

One key note for Halloween families: guests can’t wear costumes in the park. Save the costumes for trick-or-treat night, and check the park calendar for operating days before you buy tickets.

Which Spooky Attractions Suit Older Kids and Teens?

Some Branson Halloween thrills are built for bigger kids. Check the age guidance below before you bring younger brothers and sisters along.

The Curse at The Branson Coaster

The Branson Coaster becomes The Curse at The Branson Ghoster Coaster on Friday and Saturday nights in October, from 8 to 10 p.m., with lines opening at 6:30 p.m. Riders enter a cursed mine, face live scares and earn an “I Survived” sticker. The coaster recommends it for ages 13 and up.

Younger kids can still ride during daytime hours, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Halloween decorations stay up, but there’s no live scaring.

Tickets are $15.99 for ages 12 and up and $9.99 for ages 4 to 11. The complex lists daily hours of 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., which makes it an easy add-on after dinner on the Strip.

The ride is short, fast and visually intense, so it fits kids who love video games more than haunted houses. For walking tours and local legends, see our Branson ghost tours guide.

How Should Families Plan Halloween in Branson?

A little planning keeps Halloween in Branson fun instead of frantic. Use this quick checklist:

  • Plan around Saturday, October 31. Both trick-or-treat events fall that evening.
  • Pack costumes for the right stops. Branson Landing welcomes them, but Silver Dollar City doesn’t allow them.
  • Bring flashlights or glow sticks for evening events and dark parking lots.
  • Watch for teal pumpkins at Branson Landing if your child has food allergies.
  • Match the scares to ages. The Curse suits 13 and up, while McKenna’s hayride stays gentle.
  • Recheck dates the week you travel, because event details can change.
  • Keep a backup plan from our rainy day activities guide in case the weather turns.

Branson Halloween FAQ

What is there to do in Branson for Halloween?

Branson Halloween fun includes trick-or-treating at Branson Landing and the CoxHealth Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31, 2026. All month, families can visit Shepherd’s PumpkinFest, Silver Dollar City’s Harvest Festival and the McKenna Family Farm pumpkin patch. Older kids and teens can try The Curse at The Branson Coaster or the Castle of Chaos 5D ride. We verified these dates on September 29, 2026, so confirm details with each venue before you go.

Where is the best trick-or-treating in Branson?

For visiting families, organized events make the easiest trick-or-treating in Branson. Branson Landing’s 20th annual Safe Street Trick-or-Treating on October 31 sends kids along The Promenade to shops with pumpkin signs in their windows, and teal pumpkins mark allergy-friendly treats. The CoxHealth Trunk or Treat runs the same night from 5 to 8 p.m. at 121 Cahill Road, with booths, games and treats for all ages.

Are Branson Halloween events good for young kids?

Yes, if you pick the right ones. McKenna Family Farm calls its Spook-tacular Hayride “fun (not scary)” and adds a bounce pillow and hay bale maze. Silver Dollar City’s Harvest Festival offers lit pumpkin displays and photo ops with Peter and Penelope Pumpkin. Skip The Curse at The Branson Coaster at night, since it’s recommended for ages 13 and up. Visit in the daytime instead, when the decorations stay up without live scares.

Can you wear costumes at Silver Dollar City?

No. Silver Dollar City states that guests aren’t allowed to wear costumes, for the safety and security of everyone in the park. That rule applies during the Harvest Festival, which runs through October 31, 2026. Plan your costume time for Branson Landing’s Safe Street Trick-or-Treating or the CoxHealth Trunk or Treat on Halloween night instead. At both events, costumes are part of the fun, and kids can show them off.

When should I book a Branson Halloween trip?

Book as early as you can, especially for the weekend of October 30 and 31, 2026. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and both trick-or-treat events happen that evening. October weekends also bring PumpkinFest nights and the Friday and Saturday coaster events. Booking early gives you the best choice of homes near Branson Landing or Silver Dollar City, so you spend less time driving and more time trick-or-treating.
